It was only in the Golden Temple and in Kashmir that the Indian Army launched operations. The altitude(17000 ft to 21000 ft) and climatic conditions of the Siachin Glacier testify that except for stupid military men, no one else would invest so much of lives, equipment and resources on such a quixotic mission which has cost India over 50 Billion.If the Indian Generals had not indulged in amassing plots and wealth, they should have cashiered the officers who presented this stupid idea of investing so many lives and resources in an area which has cost so much and taken so many lives. I am sure emotions on both sides of the border are going to result in irrational and emotional responses but to get a cool and realistic answer, just ask a national of another country to comment on this venture, I am sure the realistic and frank answer would be that whoever planned and executed this operation was an IDIOT, because twenty years hence it has not achived any aim. Rather now Pakistan is not in any hurry to disarm in Siachin since India is constantly Bleeding here.
